Sharon has been a Florida Registered Paralegal for twelve years and has been with Volk Law Offices, P.A. since 2009.  A paralegal is not required to be registered.  It is an extra step in the profession that shows a level of commitment.  To become a Florida Registered Paralegal there is certain criteria that needs to be met which includes education and work experience.  In order to maintain the Florida Registered Paralegal status, continuing legal education of 30 hours is required in a three year period as well as complying with the Code of Ethics and Responsibility set forth in Subchapter 20-7 of the Rules Regulating the Florida Bar.

Experience and Practice at Volk Law:

Sharon is a member of the Paralegal Association of Florida and Brevard County Paralegal Association.  Helping clients through a difficult time and achieving positive results is what she strives for.  Sharon really enjoys preparing for depositions, hearings, and especially trials.  Since working with Attorney David J. Volk and Volk Law Offices, P.A. she has learned and developed an efficient and complete method for trial preparation with an eye to detail.  She has an interest in all civil matters, but her favorite types of cases are breach of contract and construction defect cases.  Sharon’s philosophy is to always anticipate what can go wrong and be prepared for it.

Past Experience:

Sharon has worked in the legal field specializing in civil litigation, family law, criminal law, probate, and trusts for more than 30 years in law firms located in Rhode Island and Florida.  While in Rhode Island, she worked in a mid size law firm for almost ten years which specialized in civil litigation, business law, and employment law.  Sharon relocated to Brevard County, Florida in 1997.  Since being in Brevard County, she has worked for sole practitioners as well as a mid size law firm.  She has assisted attorneys in the preparation for many hearings and trials to receive successful results.  Sharon has also attended hearings and assisted lead counsel in a will contest dispute trial.

Personal Background:

Sharon loves working outdoors and takes great pride in her home as well as with various home improvement projects.  Her joy is spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and her four-legged fur babies and fur grandbabies.
