Education and Certification: Anita Served in the United States Air Force from 1986-2000 achieving the rank of staff sergeant E-5. In 1996, Anita obtained her AA degree from Keiser University in Business Administration with a minor in paralegal studies. Anita was a Florida Registered Paralegal for four years and is in the process of getting re-certified by the Florida Bar.
Experience and Practice at Volk Law: Anita enjoys working with clients and attorneys preparing cases for litigation, mediation and ultimately trial. That includes obtaining factual information that supports case objectives through investigating and managing facts.
Past Experience: Anita has 28+ years of paralegal experience having begun her paralegal career in 1993 for the Air Force Judge Advocate General. During which time she investigated medical, accidents, and other claims for and against the government. She is a Certified Paralegal, Certified Military Court Reporter, and Claims Adjuster. Anita has worked in a variety of legal areas, civil law disputes, personal injury, criminal defense, Florida Bar complaints, maritime and longshore claims.
Anita served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Quality Management, and Command Administration. Providing administrative support and ensuring compliance on military bases in the US, Asia, and Europe. She also had special duty search and recovery assignments of downed planes and pilots.
Personal Background: Anita is married with two grown children and enjoys spending time with her husband, watching football, and fishing at the beach.
Anita enjoys belly dancing and is a member of the American Belly Dance Association and the Melbourne belly dance group, the Shimmy Mob, the world’s largest annual belly dance flash mob in support of victims of abuse. She and her husband foster animals for Brevard County Sheriff Animal Services.
